Herve Leger by Max Azria -"Hey, no complaints Here, let me tell Ya"

My first Herve Leger was given to me by a friend's sister from France. She gained some weight and said it would never fit her the same. It was like a funeral. I assured her I would take good care of the dress and wear it with French-like pride. Secretly I smiled like the evil witch who gave sleeping beauty the apple. MINE, Mine, mine, mine Ha Ha!!!! Yes, happy day! My grin was from ear to ear. I did the happy dance , pulled out the Jimmy Choo's and put on the dress... It was like that sound from the Angels in Heaven AAAAAAHHHHH - The Philadelphia Cream Cheese commercial. That was last year. I now own two more. I got a call to appear in a movie as an upscale wedding guest. YES! got that, I'm always looking for an excuse to wear one of them, here's my chance. I decide to still shop around and see what new frocks by Max where out, just in case. I went to my top go-to for ideas site www.style.com and WOW, I will be working over time this summer I see. Aesthetically Sexy is the best way to describe the new season's line. Not to mention the CURVES. I called my friend's sis who has since then brought three Herve's in her new size 6 frame, (she just toned up and ate healthy instead of dramatic dieting , she now looks STUNNING!) to ask her advice on the difference between the dresses from now and before Max took over and she said not much. She still loves the "Bondage Dress" and has yet to find a replacement. I have to say by having an original and a newer edition, the newer ones definitely have a better cut and the boning lays flatter. It may also be the original I have was actually 3 years old before it got into my possession but there is nothing like owning it. And no sorry I won't be selling it ....
P.s. Check out the Whitney Art soiree 0n June 18th in New York where Max Azria and his wife appeared, plus many Models and Celebs donned his collection.

New Balenciaga Bags and MAJOR sale at Saks !!!

Are you a Balenciaga Bag fanatic? Well your day just got even better! Barneys' has unleashed the new bags on www.barneys.com. Believe me you will be fascinated. With colors like Mandarin, Blu Layette and Framboise Pink, I will be looking for room or making it in my closet. The oldie but goodie covered city favorite by the name "motorcycle distressed" has risen. Different colors and silver bolts replaced the gold ones. Which makes the bag reborn. As a fan of red and yellow bags, the Mandarin caught my eye. I think the new bucket with softer edges might be something different to try. I will definitely go in-store to buy. I have to touch, look in the mirror and measure depth and height of the bag. You know, pocketbook shopping is a MAJOR duty, and I am the General !

P.s. don't forget check out the sale at Saks Fifth, with Gucci Platforms at $500.00 and Miu Miu's at $300.00 they are a steal!

Balmain RTW Fall 09' "Christophe The Emperor Strikes Back"!

Who doesn't know how much I love Balmain? O.k. for those who don't know let me reiterate . I love Balmain! Christophe has returned for the fall with more Bad-A**ness for the closet. Shoulder pads for strong jackets , studs on tiny frocks for the studettes and buckles on booties. It doesn't get any better! I have already seen a few copycats, biting his style, but if the price is more reasonable and you want the look bad enough, shop in disguise. Bebe has copied jeans , tanks and blazers, and even though we are following a trend right now it is quite obvious. Just remember if you go back and look at Balmain's S/S it was before Bebe put out their version. Alas, all is fair in love and war, you probably won't get the same fit or distinctive details, but you could maybe feel like a million bucks if this look fits your personality. I have to admit I'm dreaming of that $150,000.00 dollar check to just appear in the mail so I can get all the Balmain I need. Wishing on a Star!

Meadham Kirchhoff " Goth Biker Chic rides off into the Matrix"

Everyone has that bad side that calls out to them, whether its that double chocolate slice of mud pie or fantasizing about that Hot Hollywood bad boy, there is an attraction. Even in Fashion. Ed Meadham and Benjamin Kirchhoff two tattooed London designers ( not hard on the eyes either, if your into it!) Showed me their dark side and it was quite pleasing. Super skinny tight jeans that had a date with Edward Scissorhand and laced latex had me singing another tune. Even if it was a little Gothic. One of my favorite models graced the runway, Ava Smith. Some new faces also debuted, with names like Queeny Van der Zande you can see these fellows were not playing around. It was not the typical beauties either. The look was dark but tastefully done. I think some of the pieces separately are definitely wearable and the long lace button downs could be altered into some very sexy dresses and blouses. Goth or not I think this duo is on to something. And I will be watching and waiting....

DsQuared2 "Charlie's Angels 2009"

Every girl I know is a Charlies' Angels fan. I wanted to be one so bad, I have it tattooed on my back. I think it was their strength and toughness, well tough-chic-ness. The sunglasses, the glossy lips with the open shirt button downs, and the Va-va-voom hair !!! Don't forget the super tight Levi bell-bottoms. Luckily for me my fav designers Dean and Dan Caten of Dsquared2 have shown up this S/S with a fashion trip down memory lane. From the bubble gum logo tee to the high-waisted gold-trimmed wide leg jeans, it was a definite bookmark. Even though skinny jeans rule right now , I will not put my super tight bell bottoms too far in the back of the closet. The bathing suits were very Bianca Jagger/ Michelle Pfeiffer-esque. Black and classic, but extremely sexy. The Runway Show featured some mature sirens as well, Esther Canadas, Fervanda Tavares and Nadege. I'm glad Dsquared2 went back in time, it is great to have some variety in my wardrobe this season. With all the new indie designers following each others footsteps, its nice to have someone step out of line. I love showing up somewhere looking completely different than everyone else and even though Gucci is featuring in this timeline , they both are going in completely different directions. That is exactly the route I want to wear. Thanks Charlie!,

Jimmy Choo & Louboutins " The Shoes of my Dreams"

In my world Louboutins and Jimmy Choos' raid my dreams. I do have other favorite shoes but I must say that My Louboutins are the most comfortable high heel shoes I own. I wore them on 12 hour movie sets, and 6 hour photo shoots (with breaks). The leather stretches but never out of shape and as a girl who wears heels a lot, I actually have nice feet. I believe cheap shoes hurt for a reason. It must be the man-made soles or the fake leather. I have even tried a few times to put a cheap shoe on and wear it. So painful !! I didn't last an hour in them. I even tried accessorizing a really cute pair of Jessica Simpson pink pumps with a little white pair of socks and then I tried a pair of black fishnets for a dinner date. I couldn't make it pass dessert without taking the shoes off under the table. I don't know I guess my feet are allergic to to cheap shoes.
