Siwy or J Brand ? What's a girl to do?

I wish I was one of those girls who could buy really cheap jeans and feel great in them but, I'm not. I'm almost 5'8 with 24 inch waist and 32-33 inseam, LONG LEGS. I'm not complaining, but my jeans have to be long in the leg - short in the crotch. (I have a long torso). My dilemma is always jeans can't slouch or be baggy in the front area (unless they are boyfriend jeans and I don't need another pair of them). I always buy low rise because I have a low rise. High-waisted jeans look cute but they are not the jeans that I would choose to wear day to day. But those are my options nothing in the middle. I decided to shop the two brands that have great jeans and see which ones I like most and since I am OVER True Religion(Gawd!) except their short shorts are AMAZING.. It was time to find a new Fav pair of jeans. I already own Siwy's Hannah cropped in snowstorm. The best thing about these are : with every wash the rips look better and the fit goes back to its original size. The disadvantage : they are bleached white, so you have to be careful, some stains don't come out of white so I'm always watching what I do in them and I don't wear them often which is a shame because I really do like the look and fit of them. So next I try on the new J Brand Super Skinny 10' in Vintage. PHENOMENAL! cha-ching, brought! After doing my online research I saw that these brands are popular with the Hollywood crowd. The likes of Vanessa Hudgens, Kate Moss, Rachel Bilson, Meagan Fox and Ashley Tisdale just to name a few. The only thing I can say is that, most of these girls and women are shorter than me and the jeans do look good on them. I saw some models and actresses that were taller wearing the jeans and they look good on them also, but I would question someone with more bootie than any of us. The Siwy jeans are made to add height and roundness to the derriere, with "lifting pockets" and I will definitely invest in the darker pair. Funny though, both labels are coming out with a new wash, Siwy has Blackstorm which is a white with black Tye-dye and more rips and J Brands 'Cult' reminds you of the 70's hippie wash just on some better fitting jeans. Question is what next? I have to think about it the Siwy are not available yet and I actually had my eye on these red Rich & Skinnies, Hum mm I got to try these on, I'll keep you posted!

Look no more Bows ! "Salvatore Ferragamo"

My last memory of Ferragamo was the little black suede ballerina slippers that me and my mother had for Mommy and daughter days. I never brought a pair on my own since. But as a model, I have still been watching the line grow with me. Christina Ortiz is now at the designing house and it is quite refreshing. My daily homework for self is to check ALL designers runway shows and Ferragamo was next on the list. Frankly I couldn't be more satisfied. She added a new future to the label along with a new color. Olive. And I like jungle neutrals. I'm either very bright, or exotic hues and with very few black pieces. I adore what she did with colors and her new version of the "Trench"coat. Rearranging parts and turning belt loops upside down is just the scramble this line needed. The one-sleeved metallic romper also glistened in my eyes as well as the bright fuchsia bled orange short set. I marveled at some of the pieces and thought about adding some new inventions to my closet as well.

'Miss Sixty Spring 09' Twiggy has Reemerged

Striped knee-hi's and tiny tee shirt minis have been spotted on the streets of Miss Sixty. It put me in a Mod Twiggy frame of mind sans the geometrical shapes. The faces on maxi dresses, the micro shorts and cropped jackets with orange and white hues. The line itself was like a 2009 version of Pipi Longstocking with adorable hats and jackets to match. I like this seasons' collection alot, but the last time I went into the boutique the prices weren't that great. If I was going to spend $300.00 bucks on a hat, it would have to be an Eugenia Kim. I like Miss Sixty, but not at those prices, plus I would just save that for a more bigger purchase, (2) $300.00's are just tax shy away of a pair of Stella sandals or Louboutins'. I look to stretch my Benjamin Franklins and you can get 1 year or 2 out of a great shoe or bag, and a season or so out of a trendy dress or outfit. I will continue watching Miss Sixty and if they change their prices, I might reconsider. They are now having a big sale on their spring/summer line but the major pieces from the runway show are still expensive. Most of the better pieces never even made it to the United States, they were shipped overseas, (thanks to the severely low American dollar, thanks a lot!) A birdie told me that the line was being chased by young "gossip girl types" that could be true, the show is great but changing my wardrobe every time a new episode airs, is not my "Style".

Rag & Bone add English Punk to your Wardrobe Spring '09"

Punk Lovers hide your wallets! Mod Chicks do the same! Spring will be televised, and YOU are included! No more same store shopping, Rag & Bone have done it again. Suspenders!!! Oh Gee Wallie! Suspenders on gray or midnight blue skinnies and doubled belts. The musically inspired fashion duo Marcus Wainwright and David Neville delivery is always right on cue. With my favorite models on the runway Abbey Lee, Anja Rubik, Kim Noorda, Sasha Pivovarova, Shannan Click, Heidi Mont (does she ever miss a show?), Lily Donaldson, Maryna Linchuk and Ali Sephens. I was clapping through the whole show..in my bedroom. And the guys? pretty impressive. Button downs in satiny silver and pewter with zipper attachments on loose low trousers were appetizing. I like mixing and matching my outfits with different cultures and events (mostly musical) so zippered leggings with slouchy tees and SUSPENDERS!!! Uh Oh , let me hide the cash!

Lions and Tigers and Python Oh My !

My go-to accessories this summer are fringes, wedges, animal prints, plenty of bright bracelets or cuffs and python. Having these in your back pocket can help add appeal to any look you want to create. These are the accessories that can jazz up any piece in your closet. You don't have to throw anything away if you just add a dash of glam to recyclables. Everything can be brought back to life without taking it to pet cemetery. Tee shirts are forever. Just make an adjustment or two! forget about matching things, be daring. Add pink pythons to white jeans with a rocker tee. Keep that bohemian top and dress it up with some gold wedges. And a fringe bag can do wonders for all outfits headed for the shelf of no-return. My favorite ? Clutches ! Big, fancy and over-the-top with jeans and a tank. I love pocketbooks, but clutches are like a fresh brewed cup of coffee, strong and to the point. They can give any outfit a jumpstart. Funny thing is, no one remembers that your shirt or jeans are a season old if you just give them updates. Adding new accessories including jewelry and scarves can turn last years loved outfit into this years first impression. Think twice and give that tee or blouse a second chance and find him a new accessory to go out with, You both will be happy!

Chanel 2009 Spring/Resort Line "Why I love Karl!"

I admit, I'm a dreamer. And when things don't go my way, I go the other. That is why Chanel is on my toolbar and bookmarked on my computer. Whenever I have that "down feeling" I look to couture. I don't know why, but it always inspires me. If I was down spiritually, I would put on my favorite CD of either music or chakra clearing and maybe some positive affirmations, but to get the CREATIVE juices going, couture. Karl Lagerfeld amazes me every season. This time he did it with his Mini-Me's on the Runway at his fashion show in Miami, two separate shows, mind you. (That's Karl!). He added one of my favorite male models-Jake Davies to this seasons' collection by dressing him in fitted blazers and swimming trunks. Also putting him in a remake of "Bonanza" cutoff jacket with tails. The womens collection between the resort and spring was a big difference, the "classic suit" had a few moderation's, but all in great taste(always!). A couple of pairs of pleated shorts in soft colors hit the runway, very short I might say(just the way I like them!)Karl even did something that took me to great joy, his new version of stockings with the hemline darker and completely showing! Pocketbooks always does wonders for me and when I saw the black & white heart shaped patent leather bag on the runway, I went into overdrive! Hooray Karl! I love him so. I was in heaven! I couldn't be more happier, my whole day looks brighter and I'm excited! See what a little Chanel can do! I'm not ashamed to say that I am not thinking about the economy at this time. It's too depressing, I would rather dream of shopping, my career goals and mocha's from Starbucks(I could live off those!) I know that sounds pretty selfish of me, but I'm only being honest, and if Chanel, booking entertainment gigs and coffee makes me shallow, so be it, Leah Shallow saying see you later!

An Intervention for the Cowgirl boots and Clutches gone Bad

Cowgirl Boot lovers we're Back!!! Last year when motorcycle boots fell off the Trend Swag Wagon, I was distraught.I will still rock my YSL motorcycle boots but, what is a girl to do? I immediately started looking for options. I am a stiletto chick and when I'm not in stilettos' I'm in a motorcycle boot. I don't own one pair of sneakers and some of these low heeled sandals are sooo boring, I might have a pair in the back of my closet. Maybe. With cobwebs on them. I'm so excitement about summer and all the great new styles emerging, that I went on a Western Girl search. Looking in my closet for ideas, I find my pink Miu Miu Cowgirl boots, 4 in wooded heel with a touch of cream and brown snakeskin through out, then the ideas start flowing, SOMEONE has to have made a new cowgirl boot, I mean if I were a shoe designer I would make one every year, Right? I go to my favorite website, its European but they ALWAYS have the best in couture, and they always inspires me-www.luisaviaroma.com. BINGO! not only did they have a great amount of cowgirl boots, they also had new clutches! Being the clutch freak that I am, I found a new clutch for summer too, well to be exact 2 ! Not to mention the 2 new pairs of stilettos I will be adding to my collection! Happy Day, the most exciting thing all week , besides working on a new t.v. show. This week is looking grander by the second, thank God for Summer!

Gucci's "09" Resort Line has me salivating

Everyone has their simple pleasures, mine not so simple. The thing that brightens my eyes as well as my heart is fashion. Gloomy Mondays always could just use a pick-me-up. And that is when I start daydreaming about Couture. I am a brand whore ( excuse my French, but I must be honest!), and as it may seem that times could be getting rougher, fashion has gotten tougher! Case in point, Balmain (my new rocker chic fav) and Gucci. Gucci's spring/resort line has that Dynasty look of the 80's, with a splash of Miami Vice and tons of vibrant exotic colors. VoilĂ ! You have a sexy, upgrade of remarkable pieces that never go out of style.
Gucci's suits have always been one of my obsessions, the appeal of sexy menswear has a special place in my heart and closet. The Gucci power suit has a winning combination of what a modern girl in any position needs. Affordable? maybe not for the masses, but in my eyes its one of the most essential necessities for any women. There is nothing like walking into a room in an indigo or pumpkin colored fitted blazer and matching skinny trousers. You will definitely be remembered, and the confidence that comes along with it, could only come with the brand on your back. You could look good wearing anything, but won't you prefer looking Great?
